Canon 7d – not working / ERR40

Yesterday I have got the 9th piece of 7d, with this sympthomes (in 2 years). The problem has been caused by a loosen screw, which makes a short. In 3 cases (from this 9) the bottom DC / flash circuit has been killed too (ca. 80 USD, plus labour).

I always suggest to 7d owners to bring the camera for a preliminary check. It’s better than waiting for the ERR40 message…

I bought a used 7D a few months ago and You can count that also to the loosen-screw pack. I opened the body and fixed it successfully 😀

Opinion, question?
