Broken CF-card pins again, again and again…

If think there would be a great deal to check all the people in the camera shops, and for those with poor fine motoric skills to sell only bodies with SD-cards, but never a camera with CF-card slot.

I always wonder, how difficult is to me to push out the rest of the broken CF-pins from the plastic frame one-by-one using tools, and this individuals are able to push them back using only the CF-card.

On the last camera, which I’ve seen, there were 5 broken pins. Unfortunatelly, 2 of them were hided in the camera…

This was one of the two positive pins. The second one I’ve found at ca. 5 millimeters from the terminals of the flash capacitor – charged at 300 volts.

The capacitor was not damaged, but the camera was not working even after replacing the missing pins.
here was a burned out fuse  on the main PCB. (marked with “K”)

It’s a small one, I’ve found only a bigger replacement.

The newly changed fuse.

Unfortunatelly the camera is able to work only w/o the CF card. CF card error.
The main PCB has been damaged.
